Mexican artist Carlos Zapién stands out not only as a singer and pianist but also as a cultural promoter and composer. His career has been adorned with many international accolades, showcasing his versatility across various vocal genres, ranging from German Lied to Latin American bolero. Carlos has captivated audiences not only in his homeland of Mexico but also in Austria, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and the United States, collaborating with esteemed conductors such as Hansjörg Albrecht, Robert Ashens, and many more.

Operatic highlights include his performances from 2009 to 2013 at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, portraying diverse roles in acclaimed productions such as Il Trovatore, Pinnochios Abenteuer, Le Nozze di Figaro, and the demanding character of Niko in Gegen die Wand, a performance that earned him the prestigious Faust-Preis. Moreover, his portrayal of Medea’s son in the world premiere of Hans Thomalla’s Fremd further solidified his reputation on the global stage.

His role as the artistic director and founder of the Cathedral Concert Series in Tucson, Arizona since 2015 underscores his commitment to promoting musical excellence. With the successful release of his latest album, Latínimo, recorded at Carnegie Hall in 2022, Carlos Zapién continues to enchant listeners worldwide with his profound musical artistry.
