Nathaniel Olson, a baritone from Chicago, is performing and teaching throughout the world. He has performed as soloist with the Ravinia Festival, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Desert Song Festival, Indianapolis Opera, and, among other venues, at Wigmore Hall and at Carnegie Hall. For Carnegie Hall, Nathaniel performed in Marilyn Horne’s The Song Continues, a solo concert for the Neighborhood Concert Series, and a solo recital for the Evenings of Song III Series. Nathaniel holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Wheaton College and Indiana University, and is an alumnus of the Franz Schubert Institute, Brevard Music Center and the Ravinia Festival Steans Music Institute.
He’s married to soprano Julianne Olson, and together they have toured extensively throughout South Korea with the Far East Broadcasting Company, in recital with the Ravinia Festival in the Netherlands, throughout Indonesia, and from coast to coast in the United States. For 2015–16 Nathaniel was a lecturer of music and coordinator of classical voice and choir for the Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in voice performance at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
