A native of Argentina, pianist and conductor Mercedes Juan Musotto is the winner of the 2012 Solti Foundation Award and the 2011 Mozarteum Argentino. She furthered her studies at the Teatro Colón Art College, where she received a Master of Music degree in Opera Conducting. From 2008 to 2012 she worked as a coach, pianist and Assistant Conductor at the Teatro Argentino in La Plata, Buenos Aires, as well as accompanist at the Teatro Argentino’s Opera Studio.

Ms. Musotto has assisted in the conducting, musical coaching and preparation of operas such as Giulio Cesare, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, L’elisir d’amore, Viaggio a Reims, Nabucco, Don Carlos, Il trovatore, Traviata, Aida, Butterfly, Tosca, Bohème, Gianni Schicchi, Werther, Les contes d’Hoffmann, Eugene Onegin, Salome, Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District by Shostakóvich, Tristan und Isolde, Reingold, Pepita Jimenez by Albeniz, and in local premieres of Argentine Operas like Ainadamar by Golijov.

She has worked alongside international Conductors such as Dante Anzolini, Rodolfo Fischer, Stefan Lano, Carlos Vieu, Mario Perusso, Facundo Agudín, Reinaldo Censabella. After moving to Los Angeles, she became the conductor & chorus master at the Opera Program in Santa Monica College, chorus master, assistant conductor and accompanist with Center Stage Opera, and coach & accompanist at Cal State Los Angeles.
