A “confident, energetic” performer with “warmth and beauty in his baritone,” Chris Carr is making his way onto stages across the country. He has had consistent work performing roles at Arizona Opera, the Merola Opera Program, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Central City Opera, Des Moines Metropolitan Opera and Cedar Rapids Opera Theater. He made his company debut with Arizona Opera last season as a studio artist singing Bill Bobstay (H.M.S. Pinafore), Schaunard (La Bohème), Baron Duphol (La Traviata), and Dr. Malatesta (Don Pasquale). He is the recipient of the 2014 Igor Gorin Memorial Award. Mr. Carr has performed concert work such as Orff’s Carmina Burana, Monteverdi’s Vespers, Fauré’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah.
