Lisa Drew

Contralto Lisa Drew’s career began in the 1980s when her friends dared her to audition for San Diego Opera. Since relocating from San Diego in 1991, she has performed extensively in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. She sings music old and new, having participated in the U.S. professional premieres of Siegfried Matthus’ Te Deum and Sven-David Sandström’s High Mass, and in Steve Heitzeg’s “Nobel Symphony,” as well as the usual range of operatic roles. Since 2002, she has performed with the Rose Ensemble, an internationally acclaimed early-music group.
